Rail Gun (German)

Description[]

The railway gun, or railroad gun, was first used to compensate for shortages of heavy field artillery. Naval guns and coastal guns were moved to the front but needed a mounting to be fully utilized. A railway mounting provided the perfect solution. Although their mobility was limited they were often out of range of the enemy heavy artillery.

The German Rail Gun appears in the last mission in the Campaign in the level "The Spring Offensiv"and is the Final Boss.

Appearence[]

The Rail Gun can be divided into 2 sections. In locomotive and artillery gun. Like many German units, the train is completely gray.While there is only a large iron cross on the cannon, the locomotive is equipped with a cross on each side. In addition, both the cannon and the locomotive have a special skull with horns, which may represent the devil.

The locomotive moves the trailer with the gun back and forth, it is also armored, which makes it difficult to destroy.

The rail gun has a platform where there are infantry units that can be killed. Also he can turn his gun about -45 / + 45 degrees.

Armaments and Abilities []

He is "only" armed with a large, massive cannon with which he bombards your turrets at random. It fires several grenades in a short time. However, since he is bound to the rail network, he can only move forward or backward. However, that doesn't mean hei is slow. He shows this when he is racing towards your to box. In addition to bombing and driving back and forth, he can call for support in the form of a train engine that tries to get into your toy box.

Behavior[]

The Rail gun appears in the last wave and drives out of a tunnel where he waited all the time and randomly shoots at your towers (but mostly targets the one in front of the toy box). After a few shots, he withdraws and sends 6 Train Engine that will emerge from the same tunnel it does. They will attempt to pass straight down the rail line into your toy box.

You cannot damage the Rail Gun while it is in the tunnel. After that he comes out of the tunnel and everything starts again.

This goes for 4 rounds or until the Rail Gun is almost destroyed.

When the Rail Gun is back in the tunnel, it sends Train Engine again. After that, however, he will not drive out slowly, but will race towards the toy box at high speed, which announces it with a loud whistle.

How to Defeat the Boss[]

There are hardly any construction areas for howitzers and usually only 2 Big Bertha can fire on the train because it is within reach. You have surely noticed the 3 small construction areas near the tunnel where the rail gun is inside, especially the one right next to the tunnel, which somehow seems useless because only the Cavelary takes this route.

Build Tier 3 mortars there and they will seriously damage the train, it is also recommended to control one of them. Aiming is not difficult as the train hardly moves and you can fire 3 times before you have to reload, the AI has to reload after every shot.

However, it is recommended to take a tank or bomber. The train engines are easy to destroy because they are destroyed after a direct hit from a tank or Tier 3 mortar.
